The Mid Illini Sail and Power Squadron, in conjunction with the CLSA (Clinton Lake Sailing Association) Cabin Boaters, will offer an On The Water Anchoring and Raft-Up Seminar - Saturday May 20 from 1:00 - 5:00 at Clinton Lake CLSA Pavilion (6594 Sailboat Rd., Weldon, IL 61882). All CLSA and USPS members are invited. The sessions are free.  

Beginning at 1:00 in the pavilion, we will cover the concepts of anchoring and raft-up.  This will be about 1 hour.  At 2:00ish, we will go out on boats and practice both anchoring and raft-up.  Depending on the number of people, the OTW section may be broken into several groups.  Anchor topics will include anchor types, rode types, scope, sea/lake bottom types, deploying and retrieving anchors, anchor monitoring and OTW experience..  Raft-up topics will include safety, planning, location, gear, anchoring considerations, order of boats, raft-up, disembarking and OTW experience.
