A well-organized staggered start sent five cabin boats to windward and toward the dam on the western side of Lake Clinton—it was a half distance—that finished downwind after participating boats rounded the westernmost buoys. Wind was light—5 to 8 mph. Gerry Christman and son Phillip took first aboard "Synergy," a Capri 22.
Gerry and Phillip found new competition: second place went to underrated skipper, Perry Biddle, aboard his "new" boat, a Balboa 26. He and veteran sailor Bill Vokac (crewing at his side) (on his birthday!) nearly beat the Capri 22!
Rick Wojnar took third, Brian Hunt on StarWind 22 fourth, and Dick Hanson on "BlueChip" fifth.
It was a gorgeous day after the previous night’s highly successful "Moonlight Sail" celebrating the rare "Blue Moon" Friday night.
