More Thistles than Scots!
It was a rare day of racing Sunday as Thistles and Cabin boats dominated the racing in perfect 12 to 20 mph breezes. Bill Vokac set a perfect W/L course safely in the far southern end of "the Basin".With "the old man"[Dick Hansen] aboard, Gerry Christman was flying on his Thistle all day..

Saturday races and Upsets
It was a day of upsets on Clinton Lake as Race Committee of Chris Wojnar and Dick Hansen ran both a "Full distance" and Windward/Leeward for those who prefered one over the other. It was great to see new faces gaining the top places at the finish. Joe Budden prevailed over the great Gerry Christman after over two and a half hours on the water sharing the honors with his wife Linda on their 26 ft. Macgregor "Making Tyme"winning by 98 seconds! In the shorter competition we saw three different first place finishers in the three races run! The winds were variable out of the south at 3 to 9 mph.
Another beautiful Wednesday evening racing on the lake
Driving to the lake I was intimidated by the severe T-storm warning and the huge cummulo nimbus cloud towering over the lake. By the time we arrived at the dock their was a thick, nasty, lightning filled mass to our south and east. It missed us.
Ben and Deb arrived shortly thereafter and reported torrential rainfall on Clinton 10 just a few miles away. However, the sky to the west was clear, the wind decreased from 15 to 5kts. We launched.
Navigation Website "free"
I was able to download Maptech Viewer at the link below
http://www.maptechnavigation.com/support/downloads.cfm?CFID=2461853&CFTO...
Then I downloaded charts from NOAA, copied them into the source file for the Chart Navigator allowing navigation on my computer.
This link is; http://www.charts.noaa.gov/RNCs/RNCs.shtml
Note these charts do not include Clinton Lake or other small lakes, but does cover the Great Lakes well. I found it very useful on our Door County trip.
Hope you can find this useful.
