March 5th, 2010 Ice Report
The Marina Harbor is ice-free, including the entrance, docks, slips, concrete ramp and the moorings -- except for the last 2 back to the East.
North of the marina there is open water all the way to the Friend's Creek Bridge, but the southern route to the dam is still iced over.
The 2010 Sailing Season is almost upon us!!

Since we have a number of Kayak'ers in CLSA, here is one of my "favorites:"

What amazed me the most during my reading of In the WAKE... were the descriptions of crashing through the surf.  Often, waves off the beaches were high enough to block the shore from view... !  Yet, he managed to survive and protect his gear.  

Jeff Poundstone has withdrawn his services for a CLSA Scout Ship -- therefore. the February 20th Organizational Meeting has been cancelled...
 
 
CLSA will continue pursuing options for a youth sailing program...

No wind for the Windward Leeward Race scheduled for today (Mon., 2-8-2010)
The 20 mile legs had wind at one end of the course or the other, but not both...
They will try again tomorrow...
There will also be an equilateral triangle course used for the America's Cup Series.
