Beautiful weather brought out CLSA sailors to Workday April 2008. Jim Westerfeld had posted a 'to-do' list and by lunchtime all was accomplished - like launching the committee boat, removing club sailboats from the pavillion, repositioning picnic tables, cleaning out shed and boathouse, raking up winter debris, cleaning up launch site, mowing the grounds, stacking firewood, rigging club boats and clearing weeds and broken limbs. FYI -- This season opening should be posted as a social as well as workday -- it's a great time for new members to get acquainted, all members to accomplish something together, and everyone to discuss sailing and racing in a great environment. Comraderie was optimal, food was delicious, and the sunshiine and fresh air were superb!!! And the boats -- don't forget the boats. The rigging kept whistling "hi...welcome back....climb aboard...let's go!" About 40 workers (all ages, both sexes, old and new members, from near and far) participated and had a great time.
