CLSA is an active member of our communities:
We sponsor a community Let's Go Sailing Day.
We offer a Ladies' Day devoted to women sailors.
We offer an instructional Youth Sailing Day.
Members participate in youth activities sponsoring school groups at the lake.
We have hosted special education classes, eighth grade classes, and high school groups from Champaign and Decatur.
In years past, we have worked with Boy Scouts providing a source for sailing merit badges.
The University of Illinois NROTC unit is an organizational member of our club, and we provide race committee to them for an annual college sailing regatta.
The University of Illinois Sailing Club members are active participants in many CLSA activities.
