New business
The club boat ramp situation was discussed. Two problems were identified, one being traction in the sand for rear wheel drive vehicles trying to launch at our ramp; the other the depth of water at the ramp which makes it necessary for vehicles using the ramp to back down further into the water.
After some discussion Bill Vokac made a motion that we go ahead with Josh Sigmon's plan for the ramp and have Woody Chenault continue to search for another material to use for traction. Gerry Christman seconded the motion. The motion carried 4-2 with Joe Karbarz and Woody Chenault voting no.
A beach clean up and ramp maintenance day was scheduled for July 11, work to be done includes the removal of vegetation around the beach area and the leveling of the ramp area. The rain date for this work is July 17.
Bill Vokac will handle a mass e-mailing for the beach work party.
Deb Aronson reported that she and Ben Williams have begun tentative plans for a district Flying Scot Race in 2011, to be held at Clinton Lake.
Bill Vokac gave the titles of 2 Banshees that have been donated to the club to Woody Chenault who will get Illinois registration Numbers for them.
Joe Karbarz made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Gerry Christman seconded the motion. The motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:47 PM.
The next meeting will be July 15, 2010 at Imo's restaurant in Farmer City.
