Join us in Door County -- Great sailing and more -- you'll come more than once...

Fellow Cabin Boaters of CLSA...
Looking forward to having a few more cabin boats from CLSA coming up this year...any others going to join our "CLSA Cabin Fleet" of Budden, Karbarz and Vokac ?
In previous years, we've had Jim Coleman aboard my Mac25 as crew and Joe and Linda Budden brought their MacGregor 26 last year, so we could sail together to Jackson Harbor on the NE tip of Washington Island. WHAT A RIDE back that was !
A couple of years ago, 2 cabin boats from Lake Carlyle, IL came up and we sailed around Chambers Island and walked inland to see the lake that Has it's own 2 islands -- you can see the "INLAND ISLANDS" on most sailing charts...
On the Green Bay side, Door County (the "thumb" of Wisconsin has a harbor every 5 miles, which is an easy 2 hour sail. Every harbor has stores, shops and restaurants within walking distance (I bring my folding bike...)-- which is why Door County has the reputation as being the "Cape Cod of the Midwest!"
Leaving behind the light winds and obscene heat for the "trade winds" of Door County every year is a real treat. Like Hawaii, it's a destination you'll do more than once -- and I've been making the trip for nearly 20 years ! One of my fondest memories is of bringing OUR daughter Joy with me when she was about 8. Since the winds were light, I balanced the sails, tied off the tiller and we played a game of CHESS in the cockpit as we "ghosted north" to Gill's Rock. A priceless memory...
IN FACT, former CLSA Members (Freyman and Eickenberg)have purchased Door County homes and retired there...!!
I'LL BE "ON THE HOOK" in Nicholet Bay (next to Pennisula State Park -- which has some great walking, hiking, biking trails -- for the last week in July. And I've contracted for a slip ( only $1.75 / foot / nite !)for the first week of August at the Firehouse Ramp in Ephraim. That'll give me access to water, electricity to recharge my batteries, new showers -- and the opportunity to take on some CLSA folks for a day-sail. If you are interested, let me know when you can come up...
And, I can use the Marina Wi-Fi to catch up on emails, walk to WILSON's for a TALL root beer float and burgers -- or hit the library for more books or a FREE hour on their computers.
I can't wait... Why not ENJOY THIS SAILING PARADISE WITH US this year by drivng up with your own cabin boat OR getting a sailboat ride with me OR with Captain Tom on his tan bark center-cockpit yawl out of Ephraim or Sister Bay?
