Come one, Come all! To the Annual Sadie Hawkins Regatta

This year the third annual Sadie Hawkins regatta will be held Sunday, July 4.

This is a once-a-year event where the ladies call the shots. Any boat may compete in the series of short triangle races, but the key is that only women may skipper. Men are welcome on board as long as they keep their hands off the tiller!

These are fun, light-hearted races, really more just a chance to gather on the lake and see how many boats we can get on the course with women skippers. The skippers meeting will be held at noon at the pavilion. That is when the race committee (Ben Williams and Don Johnson) will explain basic rules of racing as well as what course they will set.

Since women often serve as crew rather than captain, this is our chance to polish our skippering skills, boss our crew around a bit and have some laughs.

We'll have a kind of impromptu potluck cookout following the racing.

Hope to see you gals there!
