What a gorgous day to end the CLSA racing season! 10 mph variable oscillating winds and warm sunny skies welcomed the seven boats participating.Joe Thompson and Mike Trautman ran the committee boat as has been the tradition the past few years. They sent the fleet to the west access after making the boats round a windward turning mark to star the race off. Craig Rost dominated the fleet with Alex on jib and spinnaker pulling away in their speedy "Thistle". Gerry Christman did a horizon job on the cabin boat fleet and took second overall after he raised spinnaker in a flawless upwind and downwind performance. Larry Payonk with Gloria performing on his "Flying Scot" took third place in their best distance showing of the year.Joe and Linda Budden took fourth place and sailed well but used their smaller jib upwind in their Mcgregor 26 expecting bigger winds in the afternoon[which came too late for them] Bill Vokac has become a single handed master on his Mcgregor 25 as he finished in second place in his fleet able to avoid getting "knocked down" by the bigger puffs while using his 155 percent genoa .Work day is coming this next weekend to put the club boats away and there is usually a pot luck afterwards.
