Meeting was called to order at 6:28 PM
Ben Williams Motioned that the minutes from the last meeting be approved, this was seconded by Jason Palmer. Motioned carried.
The Commodore explained the voting rules and announced that we have a quorum.
Woody Chenault presented the guideline budget that he has developed for this year. Bill Vokac motioned that we approve the guideline. This motion was seconded by Ben Williams.
The motion was approved.
Jason Stoller proposed that the club form an MC Scow fleet. To do this we need 3 boats which he believes we have. The fee to join the National Fleet is $25.00. He pointed out that we are much centered in Illinois as the boats are built near Lake Geneva, WI.
Woody Chenault moved that we support and encourage the formation of the CLSA MC Scow fleet. Bill Vokac 2nd the motion and it was approved by vote.
2008 CLSA Calendar: Ben Williams moved that we accept the revised 2008 calendar, Woody Chenault 2nd. The motion and it was approved.
Boat Show: Bill Vokac gave a presentation about the "In Water Boat Show" which is scheduled for May 17, 2008, from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. He is still looking for volunteers to work that weekend in the CLSA Booth, and give sailboat rides and show the various fleets in the Association.
The Webmaster, Ben Williams, gave a report of the new CLSA web site. He said the web site is coming along but is not functional yet. He said that the newsletter material will be part of the web site.
The Harbor Master, Jim Westervelt, reported that he has a need for volunteers to get such work done as a design and set up for the boat house that will keep the boat equipment separated so the club boats can be quickly rigged.
Bill Vokac reported that we have 29 paid members, and he is planning on having a membership table set up at the Spring Banquet so people can renew their membership there.
The Commodore presented his ideas for a youth program, and wants input and feedback from the CLSA membership. He recommended planning events in this program for July and August to take advantage of lighter winds. He asked for input as to whether the events should be scheduled before races or as a stand alone event. Woody Chenault suggested that we kick the program off at the Spring Banquet. Laura Palmer, the U of I Sailing Club Liaison, said that they are willing to help with the program.
Bill Vokac made a motion to have Frank Scotello register the CLSA with the U.S. Wind Surfing Association with the first year membership at $40.00. The motion was seconded by Tom Galyen.
Motion approved.
The U of I Sailing Club Liaison, Laura Palmer announced that they wish to donate a Sun Fish hull to us for use as part of out fleet. In return their members who are certified by the CLSA or a CLSA certifier with the U of I Sailing Club and with a approval certificate (waiver) in the hands of the CLSA could use it. Bill Vokac and Laura Palmer will work out the details of the use.
Bill Vokac moved that the club accept the boat, and stated that we will need a title to it. Jim Westervelt seconded the motion.
The motion was approved.
The Commodore entertained a motion to adjourn.

The move was approved and we adjourned at 9:02 PM
