Great day for racing saturday..winds oscillated from nw 10 to 15 as Randy Waldfeldt with Dick Hansens assistance set up the starting line for a full distance course taking the fleet to the Muscutan bridge first then back thru the starting line and to the dam and back. The race marked the return of "The Rodney" Rod Mosleys J-24 that had been sourly missed all year[needed chainplate repairs] .The racers were bunched up as they rounded bird islands shallow warning bouys and stayed close till the J-24 "exploded" in a wind gust and left the fleet behind .On the way back from the west access Rod and crew were all over the lake as the fleet experienced one of Clinton Lakes infamous 90 degree wind shifts. In the end Rod was just able to nudge out Gerry Christmans "Synergy" to win the cabin boat division by only 22 seconds!!Kudos to Nick Schneider for recieving the blue flag for winning first place in the overall in his Flying Scot for his first ever CLSA win.
