Five Scots on the Starting Line Wed Evening!

We had perfect conditions last night for our weekly Wed night Flying Scot races. Moderate winds, moderate temperatures and Chris and Rick Wojnar set a perfect course! The great conditions were matched by great sailing: we had five, count 'em FIVE, Flying Scots on the starting line! There was Nick Schneider and his son, Nick, sailing the Wojnar's "spare" boat, Ms Bang; Joe and Denise Karbarz, who also brought a friend, who I didn't get a chance to meet; Chris and Rick Wojnar, who had two passengers, Barrett Kendall, a catamaran sailor, and his buddy; Don Johnson and his regular crew, Karen Hewitt, and Ben Williams and Deb Aronson, who had Kim Kendall (Barrett's mom) on board.
We ran three races, all three windward-leeward, twice around (except the first, which was once around). Don and Karen were first to the windward mark every race (nice sailing, guys!), they won one race, and Ben, Deb and Kim won two races. Everyone used their spinnaker and I took some lovely photos, but then left my camera on the boat, so photos will follow after this weekend when I can retrieve the camera!
Wednesday night racing has become a wonderful way to break up the week; there are rarely any motor boats at all on the lake; we have a great time. Last night we finished racing about 8 pm and by the time we had put away the marks and packed up our boats it was about 9 pm and the lake was peaceful.
Same time and place next week, y'all!
