Clinton Lake, though man-made to support a nuclear reactor located in the flatlands of east-central Illinois, feels like a lake in the middle of a big woods. Very few houses and structures are seen from the lake and the lake supports a wide diversity of birds and wildlife - a wonderful escape from the modern world.
