Hello CLSA Friends & Family,
It's only two weeks until our Spring Banquet & the start of our 2014 sailing season. This year the Spring Banquet will again be held at Jack's Cafe on April 12, 2014 in LeRoy, IL. The schedule of events is as follows:
-"Hospitality" from 5:30PM - 6:15PM
-Dinner at 6:15PM
Menu will be Soup or Salad, your choice of one entree, with potato included.
10oz. Ribeye Steak
Vegetable Stir Fry w/Rice
-Program will include a short presentation by Gerry Christman about the Power Squadron, its purpose, 100th anniversary & how to join. He will keep his presentation short as we will have raffle & auction results to announce.
-Closing Remarks by our Commodore Tom Yeagle
As your Social Committee person, I am really looking forward to a great season at Clinton Lake & especially looking forward to seeing many of you at the Spring Banquet. And back by popular demand will be our Silent Auction this year. Yes, It's back!
For anyone not familiar with this custom, we bring & donate used or new sailing items or nautical themed things to be auctioned off & the proceeds go to CLSA. It's always fun to see what people bring in & I'm usually pretty impressed with everyone's generosity. This year, I have collected some nice things that will appeal to the ladies in the group, as I want to make sure there is something for everyone. Please, please bring things of quality, as we want to make money for the club & it's a lot more fun to bid on things people want & need. Bring your checkbooks, piggy banks, cold hard cash & a great big heart to help this year's auction be a success. I'm counting on you. :)
We will also have a raffle for a beautiful 31"x25" framed sailing print, that Tom & I are donating to help raise money. Raffle tickets will be $5.00 each or 5 tickets for $20.00. Don't miss this opportunity to possibly take home a real treasure.
Even though no one likes to talk about money, the bottom line is that we need money to run this club. Things like insurance costs, pavilion & harbor upkeep, racing & social events cost money. The money raised by the auctions & raffles goes directly towards those things, & I promise you, this Board of Directors is no different than the ones before it, in that we carefully weigh each financial cost & try very hard to make wise money decisions. By attending the Spring Banquet, a portion of your meal donations goes directly into the bank to help insure that we have the programs, racing & social events our group both enjoys & expects. Please come have a great meal and good fellowship with us.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful evening with you. Can't wait to get this party started! Thanks for ALL your help. I know we're going to have a great year!
*** Sincerely, Debbie Yeagle
