Frequently Asked Questions - About the sailing club

Questions about our Clinton Lake Sailing Association

Every spring we have our “Annual Boat Show”. Here you can view boats on display. Some will be for sale. Our web site has blogs of sailors that want to sell their boat and move on to the next adventure. Each spring the “Annual Boat Show” holds an auction for sellers and buyers. Come to the show and see what you can find. Ask a sailor. There is a boat for you.

Yes, Yes and Yes. I say Yes. We have all kinds of boats on the lake. On the windiest days the “Wind Surfers” are flying across the lake. On lazy summer days our majestic cabin boats are cruising along with their captains and crew holding a cold drink as they smile passing you by. Our racers are crazy about their “Flying Scots” their “Thistles” their “Lasers” their “Sea Scows” and their “Sun Fishes”. The biggest challenge is what will you put in the water?

You Bet! Every week there are “regattas”. These are sail boat races. There are two types. We race a short course of intense start and finish lines in a brief race of excitement. There are long distance races that cover an afternoon. (“I say Do you have any Grey Puppon” is often heard from boat to boat in the heat of sailing competition.) All of our participants love sharing their experiences and seeing new comers catch the enthusiasm of the sport. Come to the “Captain’s Meeting” before the race. You can get a taste of what’s to come.

All new members are invited to our “Meet & Greet” events. Several times through out the year CLSA is hosting a Bar-B-Q’s for new and old members. With full tummies these happy people can make life-long friendships over drinks and food. Learn about sailing. Share information. Plan a new adventure. We encourage everyone to participate and make our club a place for all to enjoy. Come join us as our guest and get to know us.
