Questions about our Clinton Lake Sailing Association

More CLSA members are involved with our extensive social activities through the year. These include banquets, potluck dinners at the lake, pirate's day, and dock parties. Fun for all ages.

We keep our financial costs low through the volunteer activities of the membership to make it all happen. Follow the "Volunteer" tab above to see some of the opportunities.

The membership form to join CLSA lists this year's joining costs.

Clinton Lake, though man-made to support a nuclear reactor located in the flatlands of east-central Illinois, feels like a lake in the middle of a big woods. Very few houses and structures are seen from the lake and the lake supports a wide diversity of birds and wildlife - a wonderful escape from the modern world.

We have about 100 memberships; some individual and some family.

Questions about the maintenance, management, and operation of this website

Simply put, Twitter provides people the ability to have a live, real-time conversation about a topic of interest.
In the case of CLSA, the conversation is about sailing--of course. The benefit of this technology is that it allows anyone who cares to "follow" the conversation to get the most up-to-date information available.
Obviously, it requires people to communicate via "tweets". Short messages sent to the CLSA twitter account. Those who follow CLSA, will get the tweet.
So what?
Here's a simple example. If we're having a race, and conditions are questionable, one could tweet current wind conditions at the lake and anyone interest would be able to make a choice. Do I go or not.
Could be fun, if we participate.

We have a new twitter account called CLSAsailing, which can be followed at http://twitter.com/CLSASailing. CLSA members can post a tweet in two ways. Our website has been setup so that when blogs are posted, a tweet is sent to twitter that points back to the website. Tweets can also be posted like normal. Recent tweets can be followed on the clsasailing home page.
The intent is that sailors can send quick and short messages to other sailors - about conditions at the lake, race results, or other fast-breaking news.
