(Please respond to this email at: george@wissmiller.org)
Hello sailors! It is FINALLY time to start thinking about things nautical (and warm). We're through the worst of it!
We will be having the annual Valley Forge Forage (begun as a Winter activity vaguely in honor of Presidents' Day) at Mascoutin State Park near Clinton Lake (see map URL below). We will meet in the parking lot near the Houseboat Cove Trail at Mascoutin starting at 2 PM, Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011. This will be followed by an optional dinner at Monical's in Clinton.
Sailing on ESPN3
Submitted by Robert Miller on Mon, 01/03/2011 - 10:04am
ESPN3 (ESPN's online streaming service) includes sailing events. Go to: espn3.com and click on ALL SPORTS and choose Sailing. It will allow you to see upcoming events, currently available events, and archived events (the start of the Barcelona Around the World Race is currently available). The archived events remain available for a few days.
The video quality is good-excellent and it is free. You will need a high speed internet connection (DSL or cable).
A nice diversion while we wait for sailing weather in the Midwest!
